Finding Kin and other stuff

Ahhh, things are good!

A cousin I had lost touch contacted me today and we IMed and later talked on the phone. She's as much fun as she ever was! I hope we can stay in touch -- I think I really need to work on hitting reply to emails more often. How can I be lousy at emailing when it's so doggoned easy? But I digress -- my day was made. *smile*

On other fronts, I'm working on finishing out the major story arc for Deuces Wild and it's flying along!

Christmas decorations are down; we have a living room back again!

My son called me for my apple pie recipe. He wanted to try his hand at it.

Soooo, yesterday he brought his pie over and-------HIS VERY FIRST PIE IS BETTER THAN MINE ARE!!!

Back...

...from Williamsburg Virginia.

Our daughter had a gymnastics meet there and this was our longest trip so far traveling to a meet. Almost 4 hours.

She did all right. The judging was hard, but she still had decent scores, however -- she got a 9.2 on beam, which is her highest beam score yet! We're very proud of her!

I am glad to be home though -- even though the hotel was nice.

We had locals who engaged us in conversation during breakfast. A nice lady modestly dressed, bonnet and all, who discussed manners and how to properly raise daughter to marry in old colonial Williamsburg, and also a very proper gentlemen in leggings, tricorn hat, and carrying a walking stick, who discussed his tavern, his small farm with nine slaves, and his horses.

I agree with the nits -- but felt the story would have to be much longer to give all the info to 'fill it out.' (If one more person tells me to make a book out of this story, swelp me....) However I wanted to focus on the protag's 'quest,' and I think I succeeded in that. So all in all, a good review.
