A Season of Sorrow
This time of year is supposed to be one of joy. A time when we gather with loved ones -- friends and kin. But this year, one family from our church will not be celebrating. And from now on, Christmas will a season of sorrow. Today, we will be attending the funeral of a junior-high-aged boy, their only child, who took his own life earlier this week.
Please, please pray for this grief-stricken family. They have said only their faith and support of their church family has kept them going.

Oh, that is so sad. I'll be praying.

Lee, I am so sorry to hear that. I will be praying for this family, that the Lord will give them the strength to endure. One of my mom's cousins had a son who committed suicide early in Dec, then 2 weeks later her husband died of a heart attack. Sometimes this season is a time of heartbreak and sorrow. But we can still proclaim the good news that Christ is born. He came as an infant for us.
